Hi Folks
Hard to believe but that is Show No 9 done and dusted and our luck is still holding out. Sitting in Gordon’s caravan on Saturday evening listening to the rain battering down and getting text messages from Steve at 10.00pm telling me about the size of the puddles on the field we were dreading what we would be facing on Sunday morning. But the field was not bad at all despite only seeing out of one eye wet around the edges and it even stood up to the traffic coming in pretty well. The entrants arrived with not many spaces and the public kept coming in as well. And the rain stayed away until late in the afternoon despite all around us getting several soakings.
We unfortunately had to cancel the gymkhana due to unforeseen circumstances. But all the other entertainment attended and was well received.
My own grateful thanks go to all who manned the public gates and who managed perfectly well without me. Two public gates seemed to have worked well and everyone who helped seemed to have enjoyed the experience.
There is a lot of work done in the background leading up to show but we could not manage on the day without the support and encouragement of the club members and we are extremely grateful to all the members and their families who turned out to help us.
My grateful thanks go to Forbes for all his work on the programme, posters, numbers and signs. Still my favourite slave!
I am also extremely grateful to Jim for all his help with the paperwork especially deciphering vehicles details and keeping me calm. Thanks also to Gordon for all his support and encouragement.
We are delighted with the results from the show.
And the date for your diary is 14th June 2015. – Show number 10
