Join The Club
Hello classic car enthusiast. This is just a short insight into who we are and what we do. We are a small group of enthusiasts numbering around one hundred at the last count, and growing all the time. We have well over 120 cars registered, as many of our members own several, whether on or off the road.
We are drawn together by one common love, i.e. old cars. Some of us buy them just to drive them, some of us buy them so we have an excuse to go out and tinker in the garage, then there are the others, who are very technically minded and enjoy helping other members to keep there cars on the road, but we all have some kind of madness, whether it is only with a duster, which keeps our pride and joy looking good and on the road, or whether it is trying to put them back on the road after years in the doldrums.
We meet at 8.00pm prompt on the first Thursday of every month at the Strathmore Arms, Glamis, where we like to have a relaxing informal meeting about forthcoming events, and discuss past events, their successes or failures as well as chatting with others about what is happening with their cars, while having a convivial drink (non-alcoholic for drivers) and blether about all things motoring.
So, can I hear you all saying ‘what’s the catch’, what’s all this going to cost me???
Well, the cost of an individual membership is presently only £15 per year or £20 for a family membership. Memberships normally run from January to December, although you can join at any time.
‘Now what do I get for my money’, I hear you say? Well the following items are included:
- A monthly newsletter/ information sheet
- A TCCC yearly events calendar
- A copy of the SVVF annual events booklet – currently £4
- Free entry to 95% of shows for your car and at least one passenger as long as you have registered at least one month before with the club Events secretary
- A good laugh and a joke with other like minded enthusiasts
- Confirmation of club membership, which is often a classic car insurance requirement
So come on, if you have a car on the road, off the road, or just dream about owning a classic, come and join us.
This could be the best £15 or £20 you’ve ever spent!!!
